For projects under 20,000 words I do block pricing; ten page blocks for $35 each or it goes down to $25 each if you buy four or more at the same time.

Ten pages, (12 pt, double spaced) are $35 each.
Two blocks (20 pages) are $60, or $30 each.
Three blocks (30 pages) are $80, or ~$26 each.
Four or more blocks (40+ pages) are $25 each.

Blocks can be purchased from my ala carte page and do not need to be contracted ahead of time. It might take me a day or two to get to your edit depending on the number of larger edits I'm doing, but I normally get edits back in 24-48 hours per block.

• Your query/a short summary or synopsis (1 page or less)   
• The word count (or projected word count if not complete)
• Your pages as a Word .doc attachment.

I also offer what's called a readers report. It's me giving your book a couple of reads and then writing a few pages of general notes on the bigger stuff without marking up the MS. I charge a flat fee of $700 for this service for books under 90k. Over 90k, it's $150 per each extra 10k. So, for example, a 100k readers report would come to $850. A 110k readers report would be $1000, etc.

• Two-pass query help
• Half hour chat sessions
• Coaching
• Organization for the querying writer

And as always, one-pass query help is absolutely free.

Over 20k? For full manuscripts or projects over 20,000 words, I base my rates on those given by the Editorial Freelancers Association (see here). I have chosen to calculate at .036/word for developmental edits, and .023/word for copy edits.

As a fellow writer, I know how much of a stretch it is for some writers to come up with that much "play" money all at once. I offer financing through Paypal for those who might wish to make payments. Remember, too, that you can deduct the amount from your taxes as an expense!
